Waste Management Recycling Collections

As many residents have experienced recently, Waste Management has not been completing its recycling collections the same day as DPW garbage collections.  This has led to many frustrations – both for the residents and for staff.  Please be assured that we have been working with Waste Management over the last two months attempting to correct these issues and provided a report to the Village Board at the October meeting.  Staff continues to meet with Waste Management to work through a corrective action plan so that recycling collections return to normal.  

My recycling was missed. How can I contact Village Hall?

Staff requests your patience and asks that you fill out the form on the Village website for missed garbage/recycling pickup.

Why fill out a form instead of call?

There are two reasons that the missed garbage and recycling form is the best option to remedy the situation.

• First, the online form can accurately track the number of missed collections.  
• Second, the form automatically and immediatelyroutes via email to a minimum off three DPW staff.
  • This allows DPW staff members who are in the field to respond immediately to requests rather than having to be routed information via telephone.
