Storm Response
The Village was one of many communities in the Milwaukee Metro area that suffered damage after a severe thunderstorm with high winds came through on Tuesday night. The wind damage caused several trees to come down or uproot due to the saturated ground. Additionally, several trees brought down power lines or power poles causing power outages to the area.
During the storm, officers responded with the North Shore Fire Department to numerous calls for wires down that remain unrepaired by WeEnergies due to the area impacted by this storm. Live wires remain a priority for public safety responders; however, WeEnergies is the only agency that can remove, repair or verify the status of a power line.
ALL POWER LINES ARE LIVE AND ENERGIZED until removed or repaired by WeEnergies. Please keep clear of downed trees and all areas that have power lines.
The weather services are warning of another potential thunderstorm coming through the area on Wednesday that may result in further wind damage and power outages. Please prepare for extended outages or storm related issues.
Information to help prepare for the thunderstorms and / or extended power outages can be found on our website under the heading emergency preparedness. The police department and village hall do not have any information related to when power will return to the area, but information can be found on the WeEnergies website.
