2022 Storm Water Improvement Project: Bywater Lane, Boyd Lane, Links Way and Portage Road

The Village of Fox Point will be undertaking a storm water improvement project located in two areas of the Village: along the northern portion of Bywater Lane and along Boyd Lane, Links Way and Portage Road south of Calumet Road.  The work is the result of a drainage study performed after observing standing water and/or flooded intersections along portions of these roads.  Our consultant has recommended replacement of the storm system in these areas with biofiltration swales (green infrastructure) that will hold more water and slow the discharge of storm water to the intersections that have experienced flooding conditions.

Globe Contractors was awarded the project to perform the work and is expected to begin work on Boyd Way at the end of August then continue to Links and Portage and, once completed there, to Bywater.  It is anticipated that work on all four roads will likely last until Thanksgiving depending on weather conditions and other disruptions.  During this time, each road will remain open though, at times, only one lane of traffic will remain open.  Buses and other vehicles will be able to get through the construction areas as most of the work will be occurring within the ditches alongside the roads.

In addition to the work being performed by our contractor, We Energies is scheduled to replace gas mains and laterals along each of these roads.  Their work will begin the week of August 15 and they anticipate completion of their work in mid- to late-September.

Letters have been sent to property owners to provide them with more detailed information, a copy of which can be seen by clicking on the link below.  Within that letter is the Private Infrastructure Form residents are asked to fill out and return to the Village.  This form allows each property owner to inform the Village of the location of any buried, private infrastructure (sprinklers, invisible fences, etc.) within the Village right of way.  Please return the form to the attention of Scott Brandmeier (sbrandmeier@villageoffoxpoint.com) prior to August 26.
