Project update -March 29, 2023
The MMSD Brown Deer Rd sewer project will be beginning the next phase of the construction in early April 2023. This phase will include the closure of the southside of the intersection of Brown Deer Road and Regent Road and, as a result, Regent Road will be closed to through traffic at Brown Deer Road. Residents on Regent Road will be required to use an alternate route such as Indian Creek Parkway to Seneca Road or Dean Road to Port Washington Road to access Brown Deer Road. Brown Deer Road will remain closed for this phase of the work. Construction closures will continue through the expected project completion in July 2023.
Project Update January 24, 2023
At the request of the Bayside Village Manager, MMSD has reevaluated and modified the traffic control plan for the Brown Deer Road MMSD Project. Starting January 30th, Brown Deer Road will be closed to both directions of traffic from Regent Road to approximately the railroad trestle on the east end of the project. Access to Regent Road north and south bound at Brown Deer Road will also be closed to traffic starting January 30th. The marked detour will start at the Brown Deer Road/Port Washington Road intersection and will direct traffic south on Port Washington Road, east on Green Tree Road to Lake Drive with the reverse traffic tracking Green Tree Road west to northbound Port Washington. This closure and detour will be for the duration of the project which is anticipated to run until July 2023

The MMSD Brown Deer Road project is scheduled to begin January 30, 2023 and run approximately 3 months. Please note that weather and ground conditions may affect the completion of the project. Below are maps of the scheduled east bound Brown Deer Road closure for the two stages of the project and the detour that will be posted for east bound traffic. Please note that during the second stage of the project, Regent Road south of Brown Deer will be closed to traffic.

Public Open House: December 5, 2022

Update: November 3, 2022
Work on the MMSD Brown Deer Road project is scheduled to start January 2023. Below are the contractor proposed timelines for traffic control and detours during this project.
Stage 1 – January/ February – south side of Brown Deer Road closed. 2 lanes of traffic open on north side of roadway.
Stage 2 – March - Regent Road closed at intersection, south side of Brown Deer Road closed. 2 lanes of traffic open on north side of roadway.
Stage 3 – April – Regent Road closed at intersection, Brown Deer Road closed, - Garden Center/ resident access from the West. Port Washington Road and Green Tree Road detour will be utilized.
Stage 4 - April/ May– Regent Road closed at intersection, Brown Deer Road closed, - Garden Center/ resident access from the East. Port Washington Road and Green Tree Road detour will be utilized.
June and July will include final restoration and backfilling of the shaft at regent road and will include stage 2 and later stage 1 traffic control. The stages are bit fluid as construction progresses; however, the full closure of the roadway is limited to 80 calendar days which includes the restoration of the roadway.

Brown Deer Rd Traffic Control Plan
Update August 16, 2022- Village staff was notified by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District that it will be installing a new sanitary sewer in Brown Deer Road between Regent Road and the railroad tracks beginning in September 2022. During the first two stages of work between September 6 and December 5, Brown Deer Road and Regent Road is anticipated to remain open to through traffic. During phases 3 and 4 (December through early February), it is anticipated that the intersection of Brown Deer and Regent Roads will be completely closed to all through traffic. Detours will be in place to route through traffic around the construction. Fox Point Village staff has already informed MMSD that the detours should not be Dean, Bradley or Calumet Roads.
Construction Schedule:
