Alarm Systems

Alarm systems provide an extra layer of protection to your property when functioning properly, as they protect against intrusion and fire. However, when malfunctioning or giving a false signal, the alarm decreases your confidence and takes available public safety services from other residents.

Alarm systems are governed under Village ordinance and require an Alarm Permit to operate. Additionally, repeat false alarms will result in an Alarm Response Service Charge as outlined in Village Ordinance §670-62.

  • If you have an alarm system installed at your home / business, please ensure that current contact information is available to the department, including keyholder information.
  • If you are experiencing false alarms make sure anyone who is coming into the home has the proper code and is trained to use the system.
  • If you are experiencing alarms of unknown origin when you are not there, consider contacting your alarm provider to have the system evaluated.

If you have any questions or need assistance with residential crime prevention measures, please contact the Police Department at (414) 351-8911 to have an officer come out to the home / business.
